Hi there! Welcome to Taking Thyme. I’m Amanda. I’m the one who thinks of the crazy things that happen here and I am so happy to have you stop by! I love playing with fresh foods in the kitchen and enjoying the fresh air of the outdoors. I am by no means a professional when it comes to cooking, but I try my best and have a fun time doing it. I am new to this whole “blogging” idea, but I couldn’t be more excited.
I’m a self proclaimed food enthusiast and I do love to eat. I dabble on the lighter and healthier side of things, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a place and time for a parade of desserts or a plate full of meat and pasta. I believe in eating what you enjoy (in moderation) and never claiming anything to be good or bad for you. I like to use whole foods and try to keep it as close to home as possible. My roots are firmly planted in using food and activity as a first step to solve all of life’s issues.
When I’m not meal planning or thinking up the next dish I want to try, I like to explore all that Kansas City has to offer with my four-legged side-kick Mac and my fantastic husband, Tyson. We love to go for long walks, enjoy a hot cup of coffee or a cold beer, and catch up on Netflix.
