The best way for our family to eat healthy and at home is to plan early…sometimes that means hearing a teenage daughter suggest “the good pizza dough” as she gets ready to leave for school.

my 6yr old and I have memorized God of Mercy and Compassion, and Salve Regina. We were going to start O Mary of Graces, but after our Priests homily yesterday, I believe next on our list will be Tatum Ergo and O Salutaris Hostia (I haven’t found one on youtube yet that I like)

I celebrated my 38th birthday, 38 glorious years, 38 years I have been given the opportunity to do good with all that God has blessed me with!

Grace filled moments from my week ~

Remembering that today (the 19th) is not only filled with sorrow of memories of the Oklahoma tragedy, but also the day I was born to do God’s will

Birthday dinner (a day early) of tacos (with deer meat), the best mexican rice ever, and angel food cake

Sharing my dinner with family

Making a chocolate cake for myself on my birthday because the 6yr old wanted me to have more cake since today was actually my birthday

Driveway visits

Kids taking lots of time to see how many balls they could fit in the basketball goal

“Not all ideas are good ideas” ~ quotes to be heard again from neighbors

Birthday calls from nieces and nephews that include “may the dear Lord bless you Cha Cha Cha”

Birthday texts, facebook notes, and phone calls from people I feel so incredibly blessed to call friends and family

We had a rainy day this week ~ the good part of that is things like a morning game of checkers while the rain comes down outside, and homemade cheeseburgers with leftover rain and some grass pulling…

I am joining the ladies at Suscipio for Moments of Grace ~ please join us

~ after so many years, to be welcomed as family for my brother’s wedding and staying up way to late visiting with his mom and other family

~ long car rides with my Emily

~ looking forward to some much wanted spiritual direction

~ a great book – “Mary was Her Life- The story of Sister Maria Teresa Quevedo” by Sister Mary Pierre, R.S.M.

~ watching my husband enjoy himself with friends

~ waiting patiently for a new niece or nephew

~ learning Hymns with my 6yr old son – we have “God of Mercy and Compassion” memorized, and are working on “Salve Regina Hail Holy Queen”

~ listening to not only my son, but the 4 little girls that I care for sing “God of Mercy and Compassion” as they play

My Lent has begun with a bang ~ a broken dishwasher and lots of personal stuff just in case the dishwasher wasn’t enough for my Lent to remind me to thank God for his blessing and to fall to my knees in prayer. But in the hard times in remembering God’s love and meditating on that what happens in this life is little compared to eternity, there are always moments of grace ~

My dad sent me a camera from his camera shelf, so I have been spending time playing around with it, I haven’t even gotten to the manual settings, but I have requested a dslr book from the library. (The camera is an Olympus e500 if anyone wants to share any great tips)

A new dog from the pound who for what they think is only about a year, is pretty calm and fitting into the family nicely (those are window crayons on our front glass door from kiddos playing)

I believe my youngest has gotten a bit tired of me learning to use the camera

It has been a very grace filled week!

Good news from the dr – biopsy is good, thyroid levels are good, antibodies are elevated, but I don’t have to go back till December. Many prayers answered!

Roses wilting fast, so my husband called the company and they promptly sent fresh roses which my 6 yr said, “Happy St Valentine’s mom, those are from me”
